Beyond the Zoom Call: Adapting to Remote Communications
In the all digital workplace great communicators consider the medium as well as the audience...and don't use Zoom calls for everything.
Nomadic will be shutting down from August 10th to August 17th with our entire team taking the week off. It’s the first time we’ve ever done this, so why now?
Like most companies, we have been working through these extraordinary times as best as we can. We have adapted to 100% remote working well (it wasn’t too difficult as we were largely remote already) but the accumulated impact of remote working, home schooling, a global pandemic and social unrest are taking their toll on our team.
At the same time we are busier than we have ever been. I am extremely grateful for this given the current economic climate, but workloads are intense and hiring can take time to catch up with demand.
The wellbeing of our team and our ability to deliver extraordinary products and services for our customers are our top priorities. To ensure we can do both, with passion and professionalism, we realized that everyone needed some time off, uninterrupted and without coming back to work and feeling immediately buried under a backlog. We felt the best way to do that was to shut down entirely.
We want to thank our clients who have been very supportive of our summer shutdown. They have made adjustments to schedules and plans to make sure this can happen. We truly appreciate having amazing clients, especially during such difficult times, and we can’t wait to continue working with them over the remainder of the year.
Our helpdesk will remain open duiring the shutdown with a rotating skeleton staff, so everyone can take the majority of the week off. But if you do need us, we’re still here, just it might take a little longer to get back to you.
