Program Overview

Change is everywhere. It is intense, it is exhausting, and it doesn’t stop. Sometimes we run from change or push it away, trying to maintain some sense of normalcy. Other times, we jump ahead of change, exerting all our energy to not only understand it but outsmart it.

But it doesn’t have to be this hard. If we understand the psychology of change–for ourselves, our teams, and our companies–we can appreciate the opportunities change gives us to better ourselves and our organizations.

Embracing Change, a new Signature Program from Nomadic, focuses on the deeply human experience of change and what it means to go through change together with other people (i.e., in an organization). It is designed for everyone in the organization to take together, regardless of seniority or length of tenure, to help create a mutual understanding of change. Using our cohort-based learning model, this Program emphasizes community learning and offers an effective way for an organization—of any size, in any industry—to navigate change together.

Field Manuals

The Embracing Change Program is made up of 4 Field Manuals (our version of an online module). Each one contains a variety of content and social exercises culminating in a mini-project, reflection, or debate. Each Field Manual will take you between 30-45 minutes to complete, but you can jump on and off at your own pace, as often as you’d like. The deeper learning happens in the discussions with your fellow learners, so be sure to check in on the conversations regularly.

  • Experiencing Change

Change is inevitable. Our mindset determines whether we thrive or struggle through it. That’s why it’s important to understand how we react to change, why we react the way we do, and how it affects our ability to benefit from the opportunities change provides us. This Field Manual digs into the human experience of change and what it means for the way we work and adapt.

  • The New Face of Change

The pace of change we experience in our lives and at work seems to only increase. How can we make sure we keep up? This Field Manual explores why our world seems to move so quickly, how to understand what’s going on, and where to start if we want to stay ahead of it.

  • Developing a Change Mindset

Developing a change mindset requires a deep understanding of our people, our work, our organizations, and most importantly, what stands in our way. When we take a closer look, we often find that we’re our own biggest barrier to succeeding in times of change. This Field Manual explores how to overcome those psychological barriers and move toward positive change.

  • Being a Change Agent

We’ve accepted that change is real and it’s happening. We recognize the effects change might have on us, and what role we can play in making that happen. We’re maybe even getting a little excited. Where do we go from here? That’s what this Field Manual is about.
