In our previous posts, we talked about how team-based learning works in the Nomadic Academy through Programs, how we deliver micro-learning in Resources, and how our members can connect with each other in Community. One way each of these elements comes together is on a Learner Journey.

Learner Journeys are curated, step-by-step guides through content in the Nomadic Academy. Journeys bring together all the ways members learn in the Academy—Programs, Resources, and Community—under specific topic areas or for specific management or leadership roles.

Using a Learner Journey to guide your path in the Nomadic Academy is a helpful way to achieve long-term learning goals. While we recommend taking a single Program over the course of 3-5 weeks, you might spend a few months on a Learner Journey that contains multiple Programs and steps.

Here’s an example of one of our Journeys:

The Emerging Manager Journey: From team leaders and scrum masters to supervisors and coaches, this Journey is designed for emerging managers—with or without the formal title. With these three Programs and 24 Resources, you will learn the fundamentals of management and cultivate a culture of trust, learning, and growth on your teams. It includes the following Programs:

Management I: Fundamentals

Management II: Structure + Agility

Management III: Time + Attention

Journeys also encourage you to start discussions and share what you’ve learned so far in Community. Members of the Academy can complete the steps in any order and at your own pace. When you complete a Learner Journey—by taking the specified Programs and Resources, and writing Community posts—you’ll receive a badge to display on your profile.

In our next post, we’ll explain all of the in-depth analytics and insights that are available to team administrators in the Nomadic Academy.
